How TSP Used a Personal Touch to Find a Senior-Level Executive for a Small Life Sciences Company
The Goal:
Our client is a small biopharmaceutical company working diligently on two fast-approaching product launches. For their first commercial hire, they were looking for an outstanding Chief Commercial Officer to build product launches and develop selling strategy.
The Challenges:
As a small company, our client didn’t just need a CCO with leadership skills and the right vision, though both were important. They needed candidates with the willingness to roll up their sleeves and execute on strategies they help develop.
The Process:
We believe in providing a custom and personal process to our executive search clients. This partnership began with an in-person, in-depth discovery meeting with the client. We asked tough questions and listened closely to understand their culture, then developed a customized strategy to meet the needs of their company and the role.
Because we took the time to learn about our client, we knew what was exciting about the role and conveyed this to our candidates. We developed a list of finalists and interviewed each personally or through video chat. Our in-house I/O psychologist conducted executive assessments, involving an interview and online assessment tool to look at leadership style, skills, strategic thinking, and other behavioral tendencies.
The same team of TSP recruiters who visited our client to learn about their culture carried out our strategy and delivered top candidates with the cultural attributes and skills necessary to succeed in the role.
The Outcome:
Our recruiter and I/O psychologist’s assessments provided a detailed portrait of each top candidate, helping our client dig deeper in final interviews to determine the ideal choice for the role.
By executing on our customized and personal process, we found a top candidate with the energy, leadership skills, and vision that matched our client’s needs, who accepted an offer for the role.
